Coming in December:
Dacha Open House — Auditions for 2023-2024 Season
Dacha Theatre will be hosting Open House Auditions for our 2023-2024 season!
Seeking actors, dancers, movers and artists of all backgrounds and disciplines! What does "Open House" mean? Our Open House auditions are an opportunity for us to get to know you as an artist, and for you to get to know us as a company. We will draw from this pool when we callback for our 2024 shows, much like other companies use a "General Audition." You should submit for our Open House auditions if either of the following is true for you:
These auditions will take the form of 90-minute group workshops, including games, physical improvisations, and devising prompts. Come prepared to move and play. We will update this page with our COVID policy as we near Open House auditions this November. |
Audition Process:
First, you'll fill out an audition form (coming in November!) Then, we will run in-person auditions. Please note that we have a limited capacity for our audition sessions. Those invited to auditions should plan to be present for the duration of the 90-minute audition workshop. You do not need to prepare anything for these auditions! Stipend Rates: All roles will include a modest stipend of at least $200-350. |
Who Are We Looking For?
We are always looking to cast a diverse ensemble of artists who are eager to create and explore together.
Artists of all gender identities, ethnicities, ages, and abilities strongly encouraged to apply.
For our fully devised and immersive shows, ideal ensemble members are comfortable developing larger-than-life characters, playing respectfully and creatively, and engaging directly with audience members.
Improvisation, devising, clowning, or writing experience is a bonus.

Dacha's Audition Philosophy:
Dacha auditions usually take the form of an audition workshop, followed by callbacks tailored to the specific show. Our audition workshops are typically group auditions comprised of games, devising prompts, and improvisations.
We want to get to know you as creators and artists first. This is because we believe that who you are is the single most important factor in casting our shows.
Preparation is not required for the majority of our audition workshops, and they are designed to make you feel successful, so that artists of all disciplines, backgrounds, and experiences have access to our shows!
