DACHA 'ROUND THE CLOCK
Welcome to Dacha's first digital 24-hour theatre festival!
Dacha ‘Round the Clock is a 24-hour play festival for the digital age. On Friday night, artists from anywhere on the internet get together in groups of actors, a director, a playwright, and a streamer. After getting a theme, and list of requirements for their shows each group spends the evening devising — exploring the material together — until a shared vision for the show emerges. The playwrights scripts overnight, and the next day is spent in rehearsal for a live online premiere.
The challenge and guiding principle of these pieces is attempting to answer the question — why are we doing this live? Dacha’s offline repertoire is full of immersive, interactive theatre, that takes advantage of unusual physical spaces, and the immediate presence of the audience — can we capture some of that same energy in our virtual Dacha space? We sure hope so, and we have a whole 24 hours to do it!
Rehearsals begin 6:00pm Friday, January 22nd
Curtain 6:00pm Saturday, January 23rd
